Bringing the spouse in Qatar

Hi everyone,

I've been offered a job in Doha and about to move there in a few weeks.

I'll be living in a flat given by the company until my husband comes.

Can you please tell me what were the formalities to make my husband come and live with me ?

I understand that I have to earn more than 10 000 QR to make my husband come and I will , but can anyone please share their experience on that matter with me ?

What I have to be prepared for , etc....

I look forward to hearing from you

Thanks for your help

First and foremost you have to have your employer's permission for your spouse to come.

It is difficult to get a visa for your husband until unless you are working a government sector or semi government sector. i.e. like QF Qatar foundation Olympic ect, if you are working those places you can sponsor your husband when you get your RP,

Husband under your sponsorship will not be allowed to work. He should find a job with work visa.

Is your husband expecting to find work when he comes? I know of a quite a few women who sponsor their husbands but their husbands are unable to find jobs in their field and are quite bored and unhappy. So I would say that is something to be prepared for.

1. Have to earn above 10K (which you know)

2. Have to pass medical checks and obtain Resident Permit

3. Have to pass probation at work

4. Usually only allowed to apply for husbands visa after 6 months of employment - government requirement (some companies will apply after you pass probation however)

5. Have to go to Immigration Office and fill out the paperwork and pay to have them come over.

6. They will also need to pass medical once they arrive to stay
