Human lives are not so cheap at the end of the day(sarcastic). I wonder how much improvements to human lives could have been bought with that amount of money.

I thought I would share this with you.

War is never meant to enforce brotherhood between enemies, but it definitely increases patriotism among those on the same side. A Pakistani will be more Pakistani & an Indian will be more Indian during the war. And especially for you.....read the last line of my earlier post......thank you.

The money is nothing compared to the disctruction that these wars have caused.

For those who say that the war developed the economy, I would say yes, but minority.

While they are destroying the economies, the environment, countries, people and land of the majority.

new exp (IRAK,PALESTINE, AFGHANISTAN) ...

If you think war is good thing, I hope that you will live it and feel it ,to know what is the meaning ( your money and economy ) have no value compared to the sufrance caused to humans (kids, women, families etc....)

As the saying goes - To the victor the spoils. Wars initially are a boom for the non-recieving end. Then they make more money by helping to rebuild and offering reconstruction loans..

Win-Win :O)

War induces fast progress in science & technology. War creates new markets & jobs. Wars reinforces human values & brotherhood. War are not only unavoidable, but necessary to keep the population of idiots in check.

Brit, The only problem is wars and the like don't wait for the right times...they happen even when the 'receiving-end' economies don't need them.

Thelonius is right. Without wars and interference, many economies would stagnate and many leaders would be out of work.

Thelonius, I am sure you must be joking!! I would like continual and steady change in entropy which is associated with peace and harmony of this world. We know nobody can hold back this change in entropy so why not use it for peace and happiness for all.

Money changes hands fast during war times and this can be taken as re-distribution of wealth. It's not the money that was lost but the quick depletion of resources/energy deposits present in the earth, that was spent on destructive activities.

If there were no wars, this energy would have stayed with earth for constructive purposes. In terms of thermodynamics wars amount to massive and quick increase in entropy on earth for no useful purpose.

You are missing the point. Wars boost the economy and help those in power divert attention from issues at home.

If your just be curious about old wars expenses , who will make a war with spending only a penny's worth. If you spend only to a million soldiers with sling shots each ,cost already millions how much more with guns and war machines , each sides need more fire power to be of advantage, well those money already gone to smoke...
