rules do changes but not that often. company should take care of everything from day one, but you need to push them all the time. PM me if you want to ask more questions

Hi Kiti,

sorry for late reply, not been online for a bit.

it honestly depends on the company your husband going to work for and the level of interaction between department. although our talent acquisition was very productive and well organised, I cannot say the same for our HR and PR.

if I can give you a bit of advise, that would be "dont be affraid to ask, ask and ask again"

force issues with them telling them you need answers and actions. they will hide the fact that they either dont know, dont want to know or simply cant be bothered, by saying that rules change all the time.

@arnaudmarosi Wow, that was fast! Do you mind to tell which company are you working for now? I wish my husband's company can work wonders like yours. You mean after visa was issued to you, you were only able to fly out this month?

it happened very quickly. I got to know about the job on 30 Jan this year, got the interview on the 4th Feb, job offered on the 5th, negotiation and final offer by the 9th, contract sent by the 18th and visa by the 24th.

very quick indeed. it is after that it gets much slower.

hi arnaudmarosi! So you just arrived Doha? Wow, you're family is following in 2 weeks time? That's fast.. I just want to know, before you arrived there, how long before your company was able to get you?

I would start looking now and also apply for it now. most school you can apply online or print the form and return it by post. Some ask for an application payment which range between 250 and 500 riyals per application.

I am in the same dilema. I have arrived here a month ago, and my family is coming in two weeks. I have three kids who are at school and finding places is a nightmare. I would also look into home schooling and private tuitions if I were you but be careful as full reports must be available when applying to proper schools

Thanks lizlawrence! :) My husband is still waiting for his offer letter then work visa. Most likely would reach Doha (if all goes well) by September.
