National Library (QNL), Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development’s new project, will not just be unique and exceptional, but also digitally advanced.

“It will be the most advanced library in the world.

Click here to Visit their Official Website. There are so many user friendly services like Online Resources etc.

It was open on April 18.. Though Mr. MOD made it a Featured Thread but I did not see any effective comments.

I hope this will bring a little awareness.

Share your experience if you went there already.

Thanks.

awww...that's too bad frez. i like libraries that give you something to read everywhere. i've seen and read really good poems carved into some library desks.

and yeah, i like the smell of real books too. both old and new. i have only recently learned to read ebooks on my tablet or phone but i can never read one on my laptop.

wirehead , sorry my toilet is clean as a dining room.

You know what guys, i never use internet while im at college, like present generation, me and my friends gathered knowledge from books. I still remember that we use to keep a book in weekly wise, one after one.

I still like to catch the book by my hands, you might think i am silly when i say "I like their smell", and i never read a book using the internet ,, there are many do, as people have different tastes.

Waiting for the results :)

Well, first of all you need people who read books.

I'm basically with Brit on this. Building a fancy library won't do much to encourage library patronage among adults UNLESS a reading/literary culture has been taught to them as kids.

For too many people in this country, its too late to expect them to pick up a book and start reading now, after spending their lives never having realized that its possible to read recreationally.

We dont need an advanced library, a library rich in collection of books is more than sufficient.

The sad thing is that people assume that technology is the answer to everything..

This is not always the case..

frez, is your library's toilet door vandalized by users who write on it and use it like a chatroom or forum too? if it is, i would come ;P

I still love going to library. Browsing books. Looking at newspapers and magazines. Reading about local events and just watching other people.

how sad that some people these days cannot appreciate the value of a real library anymore. i've survived my college days because of my favorite libraries. they make you concentrate and focus on studying in a way my room or the internet never could.

i also loved looking up the old books where previous students already highlighted the important parts for you and some even wrote notes on the margins of the pages. if the borrower's card at the back is old, you can even get to see if the book was read by a now famous person sometimes. you get to hold an actual piece of history

Maybe advanced like this library?

http://www.mhpbooks.com/is-this-the-worlds-most-awesome-library/

Will it rival the collection sizes of some of these libraries?

http://www.thebestcolleges.org/amazing-libraries/

Or is just going to be the best because it says it's the best?

By landloverreview• 30 Apr 2013 12:57

Lonious Agree..it varies with person to person.. Affordability, Comfortability, reliability levels are not same for everyone.
