Incorrect Traffic Violation

I have a METRASH message this mornng to say i was doing 115 km/h and have a Qr500 fine on 30/06/2013.

A few issues, it was Sunday,I was in office at the time in West Bay, I wasn't in the area, and I didn't lend my car to anyone to drive!

It says the area near Doha International Airport (Al-Bahriya Area). Does any one know where this area is ???

Should I try disputing the fine...

Rayes raises a good point. Did you request a picture when you spoke to Captain Abdullah ?

go to the traffic department and ask for the picture, if it was your car then you have to pay

I was given (notified by text) a QAR500 fine. No reason given. At the time of the so called offence I was more than 70Km away. I had no proof I was. It was on a road that I had never been on. I went to the traffic department and was told that I had to prove I was elsewhere, which of course I couldn't do so the fine stood. There was no reason at the traffic department, it was not a speeding camera, probably a manually entered violation, therefore I assume to policeman entered the incorrect registration into his computer! Had to pay in the end!. Now I check in on facebook, almost everywhere I go so that on occasions I have some proof of where I was.

HGL, with so many incorrect fines i think they can open a big hypermarket or a small new state....:)

With many incorrect fines looks like they should open a separate counter to report such incidents with someone behind the desk who can speak english too.

i have a weird situation as well as i got fined by a Hidden Radar on C Ring road near to American Hospital, issue is i have been fined twice of 500 Each for over speeding but both the tickets are issued with a time gap of 2 mins. So i am not sure if i could have done two full rounds on C Ring road less than a min and get flashed twice. This happened in Ramazan last year, so waiting for my Renewal time to check with the Captain, but again looking at all the feedback here .. i am not keeping my hopes up high.

Does any one else have / had a similar situation ? any luck on how to sort it out ..

there is a WAY that Whatever your Speed is the CAMERA will not DETECT your Speed. i Tried it does work but its Illegal and Harm

This should be called Extortion not traffic violation.

times are way off when u get a speeding violation by a mobile camera.. i got flashed by a mobile camera doing 104 km/h on a 100 km limit road when overtaking a slow moving nissan... however, from what i've read, the traffic light speed camera is pretty accurate..

The told me to file a complaint and go to court and let the court decide....duh !

then i thought i have better things in life to sort out instead of running up and down to court/police station/ court/ police station and so on and so forth...

This happened to me once. Apparently I was joyriding around a roundabout that I've never been too at midnight on a work night, when I was actually asleep in my bed. We went to the traffic police but apparently the violation had been recorded by MOI, and there was no way to talk to them about it. So we ended up paying :(

Got 500 Month ago when i was sleeping on that time and day of Violation but i PAID. Because it was more better to pay then Begging.

he can go there later(evening) as it is open by that time, not sure if they are available until 12pm because when i've been there before at 8pm for plate number replacement, it still open.

Hmm so someone has to go through all this which includes taking time off from work, driving to their office under heavy traffic, wait in queue, deal with all these people because its THEIR MISTAKE?

Bring a recent rear picture of your car with the plate nos. showing. This is to dispute the picture they have in the event it is a different car/plate nos. in their system.

Go to RADAR dept in Madinat Khalifa...(First Floor Left Side Building...left most desk).....take a number....show the message on your mobile....give them your Car Registration Card....They will punch in your number...and if your Car appears on a big screen behind the captain...you will have to pay...If not...the same stern looking gentleman will assist you in getting this fine overturned....and remember keep smiling!!!....Everybody there appreciates a smiling face

It happened to my brother, beating the red light, time indicated he was at home also. They showed him the picture and it was obviously not my bro's car. Unfortunately, the fine still remains. :((

It happened to me once, I went there and disputed it and it was dismissed.

But you have to ask them for the camera's photo of your car when the speeding was recorded.

Time is not correct, and location is general. Typically this error in time and location happens when they use mobile speed cameras. Go to any traffic department and ask for the photo, chances that you are not going to like it.

Good chance. They will show you the picture. You tell them if it is yours or not.

Keep a Picture of the GM on your desk.
