how to rent an appartment in Doha?

hi,

gonna move to Doha with my wife in august and work there for at least 1 year.

Is it possible to rent a flat/ appartment within three weeks?

Or would it be better to travel to Doha earlier to sign a contract / to be sure to have an appartment from september?

And how much will I have to pay the first time? For three months? Or for one year?

And what about bail/ how much?

Thanks in advance :-)

1 more question, sorry: Is it necessary (for those "cheque book") to have a bank account in Qatar?

Or is it also sufficient to have bank account in my "own" country?

the ususal terms are 1 year contract for rent.

1) have a resident visa, current bank account and cheque book.

2) pay 1 month rent in cash as deposit and 12 months post dated cheque.

if you opt for serviced/hotel apartment, then only passport copy is required. But this will be very expensive.
