Surrogate refuses to abort disabled fetus
This is a long one, so I'll just put the first paragraph:
A woman paid $22,000 to have a Connecticut couple's baby fled across the country and had the child after refusing their instructions to abort it when ultrasound scans revealed a series of disabilities.
Five months into the pregnancy last year, surrogate mother Crystal Kelley was told the bad news by doctors - beginning a tragic and heartbreaking ordeal for her and the baby's parents.
Following a legal battle with the parents, Crystal, 29, flew to Michigan to give birth according to CNN, leaving the child to be fostered, instead of being raised by either herself or the intended parents.

Who's in the right here? The surrogate or the biological parents?
She'll never be able to speak or walk and she only has a 25% chance of surviving as it is.
I'm against abortion in any form...lets hear from the child when times he/she can tell what truly she/ he felt...to be born in this world... God had the purpose to bring him/ her in this world to tell his/her story and Im looking forward to it...if he/she has deformities God willing he/ she will overcome everything...well give him/her a chance to live as a human being...not in Limbo! ...
I think it must be a very hard decision to choose to abort a much wanted child because you don't want them to suffer.
it is ok to be a baby killer. its a hard decision .
Mimiloves2sing..Isn’t it better than bringing a disabled/deformed child to this world?
So in any case its ok to be a baby killer
And May God forgive me if I am misjudging her, but I do see her to be as Xena says.. I mean it's not like she stuck around to raise the poor baby. She just gives birth and gives him up for adoption anyways!
In all of this my sympathy most lies with the child who never had any say in being born into such a trialling situation and will have to live a perhaps short but still dependent and difficult life!
You can tell that they have an affinity with the baby, because they are visiting the child and involving themselves..
I don't think any parents would flippantly choose to abort a child, especially ones who are paying so much for donor eggs and surrogates, so for her to choose not to abort is just selfish.
I was also following this... The surrogate has no right to keep the baby if the Biological parents want to abort the baby due to medical reasons...
I feel for the Biological parents...
It just seems to me the surrogate saw this as a media opportunity... a brilliant way to make money - maybe even a movie deal?
Cynical? I know....
I couldn't put everything Brit, or people would complain it's too long.
The way the Daily Mail wrote it, you could see they were trying to make you sympathize with the surrogate, but I feel for the bio-parents. They already have two children with disabilities so I understand that they didn't want to bring another child with problems, especially severe problems into the world. The surrogate was just being greedy and irresponsible.
I have followed the story in depth and there is a lot more to it ..
Once it was found that the baby had problems, the offered her $10,000 for the abortion, which she counter-offered with $15,000, but ultimately still refused.
She had the baby and was given up for adoption to a couple - although the life expectancy is not great.
The couple now have visited the baby and are keeping in touch.
I would have sympathy with the mother if she had decided to raise the baby, rather than fostering it.
