Car Theft and Ownership Change..!! How??
Hello Friends...
I'm new to this forum. I'm in a serious issue with a theft like activity..!
I had a car and was not in use for last 2and half year. I kept it at the garage until my last visit. It was a small car. But at the time I didn't have that much money to repair it. So I managed to pay and get parts at time I was receiving salary. I had paid almost QR.1700 towards the service. (no receipt with me for the payments and its not the issue now).
Recently, one of my friends told me, he can settle my bills and when ever getting money give him back! So I went to the garage, they told me, at the time of their CR renewal they disposed all the vehicles and that car also went on that lot to the baladiya scrap..!! (I didn't get sad or feel bad. I wasn't touch with them for months. May be they thought I wont come back anymore..!)
At the time, when the car was in the garage, there was papers for re-paint from muroor and nothing else. The car was in a good shape and major jobs were done by means of the time. There was a bent in the chassis, the lights were Brocken, bonnet damaged, a/c condenser damaged and radiator damage.
I gave all parts except a/c condenser and one headlight. and I was searching the same from the scrap.!
In the morning, somebody told me to cancel the plate and try to get the head ache over. I checked the plate no at the traffic website... I was shocked... the no plate is expiring on 2013.08..!! But it was expired on March 2010 already..! And the Estimara is with me too. How it happened without my knowledge??
What I can do next??

well it could happen.. Do you took some loan with the bank for the purchase of that car do you return the loan to the bank if u havent returned the loan to the bank then its possible... and its so simple then dear
I do agree with "Flexicode" . That could be the only possibility according to your description .
Did you think from the angle that when the vehicle to which the number plate was assigned is discarded the plate could be re-assigned to a new vehicle. If your car was not sold to someone, this could be the only possibility.
Is this happening here in Qatar?

I completely agree with your view. But I have some more time until the translation service re-opens after the break at 4:00. So had a thought getting feedbacks from the valuable QL members...!
No Idea... I went to the garage in the morning.. they told me to check with the scrap.. I told I couldn't find the car in the scrap and I need to cancel the No plate..! (I didn't say them that, I found the no is active online..!)
Now, I only know the no plate is active!! I have strong doubt the garage guys playing a game..!!
What can I do? I have the old Estimara. I went to the traffic at A/p. They told me to lodge a complaint against theft at Capitol..! If I do so, will it be legal?
transferring your car without your signature and content is a tough task though not impossible. You must go to the traffic department immediately and report this to the authorities. they will find out who owns the car now and subsequent action can be taken further.
Report this to traffic police rather than here in QL.
is that someone has taken the car - or at least the plate number and has renewed it without your consent?
If this is the case, go to the traffic department at Madinat Khalifa and find out there what can be done.
Do you think the Garage may have sold your car?
The car is not under my name now. When searching with my ID, now the car details has been eliminated from my ID no..!
