Coca Cola linked to death
Drinking large quantities of Coca-Cola was a "substantial factor" in the death of a 30-year-old woman in New Zealand, a coroner has said.
Coca-Cola had argued that it could not be proved its product had contributed to Ms Harris' death.
The coroner's verdict came on the day Coca-Cola Sales said sales in Europe and China fell in the last quarter of 2012, and warned of a "volatile" year to come.

She drank liters of it a day, but still a little scary. If a lot kills you, what does a little do?
We used to drink the black Pepsi or coke drinks . One of my team mate got a stone in the urine area . The doctors advice him to stop drinking the black coco cola n Pepsi , post that we team members have totally stopped its intake . Not missing it either
LOLS Frenchies LP will give a physics theory on yr question rather to consume it
been trying to avoid taking coke for the past couple of months. but this week alone i've had it twice. i thought i should have cheat days every once in a while. tsk tsk.
gosh, 10 liters everyday is too much. although i do know some people who drink lots of it everyday and not have enough water.
Oh ok, Thelonius. So, poison is ok if consumed in moderation.
That makes perfect sense...
Well, she was probably severely dehydrated. As coke has caffeine in it, you do not get the hydration your body needs.
And of course, all the chemicals in that stuff are nasty!
I usually have coke when I eat street food, if you have seen what coke does to a piece of meat, you know what ever you eat will be completely annihilated by coke...no chance of getting sick.
Has so far worked perfect for me! :)
Otherwise I don't touch sodas.
Two years nearly now since I gave up drinking these sodas, having being diagnosed with gastritis, and I must say stories like the one mentioned in the OP makes me happy with my resolve.
I used to be quite a cola addict myself..specially during exams when I'd drink liters of it! Well glad I didn't end up with a fate similar to the unfortunate lady Ms Harris.
As the saying goes "Too much of anything....."
Now will they pull it off the super market shelves like they have pulled out the bottles of cologne and lotion
all drinking or eating above the max. doses is dangerous to the health. :)
We really need to be more mindful. A colleague used to drink four / five Red Bulls a day, till she started getting heart murmurs and was told to cut down..
won't change their [ drinking ] habits normally until they die ..
