Step into Health by Aspire

Knight Returns
By Knight Returns

If you walk at 5km per hour (which is comfortable) it takes 25 steps to burn off one calorie. So remember; the more steps you take the more you burn, but do not expect rapid weight loss as one kilogram of body fat holds about 9,000 calories. The trick is to combine walking with a healthy diet and keep the calories down to around 1,600 per day.

Just to inform you that FREE PEDOMETERS are available at Aspire Park. You can monitor how many steps you walked, thus the calries burnt.

Log on to the below given website and register and go and collect the pedometer showing your Qatar ID. (near the café at the pool). You can register separately for your spouse as well with different email and mobile number.

Why are you guys so concerned about the health of Qataris?

Take care of yourselves, and let the others do their own thing.

OK, could be..but doesn't look like it when we see the physique of young Qataris outside. I guess the thobe hides their muscular built..who knows.

Again, walking is for all ages, especially for middle aged folks. Haven't seen elderly Qataris walking for health either at Aspire or at Corniche.

I feel people couldn't have asked for more!

Despite all facilities and promotions by the State, we hardly see a Qatari national taking a brisk walk by himself or in a group of two or three with a view to lose weight.

All I see in the Corniche are the land cruisers parked facing the sea and Nationals either sipping coffee or eating burgers inside their cars.

They could create more playgrounds... instead of the so called "parks" with flowers and funny grass...
