What is my right as a tenant to terminate a contract between me and the landlord. Do I have any right to terminate? the agreement was made in arabic and i dont understand a word. will i go to jail if i terminate the contract.
its impossible that you did not read and understand the contract before signing.it happen to us with our qatari my landlord, we did not sign the arabic contract till we translate first to english then ask him to remove some points.translate your contract with your arabic friends and its all there.
for standard contract, it must be reasonable/acceptable reason between you and landlord.if no, you are breaching the contract and of course a case will file against you and surely you will go to jail.
You can terminate it whenever you like. The trick is about the cheques he has; surely he will not be willing to give it back now-a-days as you've all noticed that that crazy race of raising the rents has stopped and it already started declinning.
If you were clever enough not to give cheques, he has absolutely nothing to do.
get the contract translated first....which you should have done before signing it..!! anyways, read the contract carefully & most probably you will get the answer of your post yourself.!
