Round abouts in Qatar

Why do poeple park in the roundabouts. It makes it very dangerous to enter the round about in some cases. sometimes it looks like people simply stop there to have a conversation with a friend or something. Is it possible that the police will enforce traffic laws to prevent this and make driving in Doha a little bit safer?

This is terrible. you would think that a developing nation had better methods for enforcing traffic safety. Unfortunatley no one here seems to take driving school seriously. Most people here should not be allowed to drive. They have no Etiquete and no common courtesy on the roadways. They are rude and have no regard for the safey of others. Its really sad.

Not just in round abouts..Mostly landcruiser drivers are using the roads as their living rooms wherein they will stop in the middle just to have some chat with each other..My goodness! Really ridiculous.. They are so unmindful of other people and so insensitive..Sometimes i had an emergency in the house and i could not pass through the road bcoz of them. Is it too much to ask for them if they will park on the designated parking slot on the road side while they are having this chat? I know this is their country and i dont plan to steal it away from them but we are human beings we are not dogs or donkeys..There are road rules that should be followed each & every single moment or else it will pose some danger.

Yes Odawg, you are right,,its very dangerous to keep vehicle on halt in roundabouts,i am sure that its against the law, traffic departments need to keep strict eye on it and anybody avoids the law should be punished.

You haven't been here long have you? Traffic and driving in general would be a lot safer if the rules were enforced on a regular basis instead of relying heavily on radars and accidents to slow people down.
