hey..i just arrived 2 weeks here in Doha. Got a big surprise when i check out the rentals in the paper.....yes what the others were saying are true...the rental rates you get on the internet are similar to those in the local daily.
Basically, for a single person, QR6000-QR8000 depending on location and whether SF or FF. I suggest you prepare for higher which is about QR7000. You can get QR7500 with 2-bedroom in a good location. Even QR6500, but one room will be much smaller and only one bath.
if you are going to take a place through a real estate agent, i suggest you prepare some cash with you.
the last one which i turned down asked for 1 mth advance, 1 month deposit, QR2000 for electricity and water deposit, and also QR2000 for service fees (non-refundable).
For food, drinks, taxi and groceries etc in the first month you would need min QR3000-4000 depending of course but this figure is quite descent.
I hopeyou get an idea of how much you need to have when you come here.
H yasser, u have been asking too many questions abt UF and FF flats?? r u moving to QATAR??well then dear, rent rates r same here like in UAE..I m paying quite an exorbitant price for 1bedroom + kitchen + bathroom (and that also a part of villa).Forget about the rent for the FLATS..its quite high here..may reach between QR 5000 - 6000 depends upon the locality for 1bedroom UF appartment..Furnished may be more pricey, i guess so..
By the way, wat ur employer gonna to offer u?? If they r providing u FF, then well and gud for u..U can move in here and can enjoy..But yes, life is not so happening like DUBAI..I had stayed in dubai for 1yr and i literally enjoyed my days..But i like QATAR too..Qatar seems more peaceful to me compare to dubai..
