accident, please need advice

Hi

I had accident today, my fault. The car is rented and I ma Polish on a visitor visa from 3 of March with my Polish driving licence, at the moment i deal with one company to start the work for them. I hit the back of the bus, the damage is minimum. I call police and they ask me to drive to police station, so we drive there- me and the bus driver. I show my DL to the policemen and ask who i work for and when i came to the Qatar. He asked us to come on the evening time. I asked the bus driver way and he said that the policemen can speak English.

But i could see there was some confusion about my person.
Is that good idea to go to the police station again, maybe its better to make a deal with the bus driver pay him cash for a damage rather then making myself problems. Please i need an advice can i be fined for driving with my Polish DL? What kind of consequences i can take ??

Thanks for any help

You are advised to take one of your colleague who knows Arabic and can convey your case...........Don't offer any money to driver. You should keep in your mind that the car repairing shall be on your expenses and if you pay also for the bus repairing, it will doubled your cost. You should go Police Station as there is no any issue with this DL. You will just fine of 100 Qr and then get repair your car. Also your car is rental so you also need to bring the letter from the Rent-A-Car because you will not be having the estimara.........Contact also with your Rent a car agent.......

You may contact for further discussion.......

Best of luck....

Do as what the police wants you to do. Go back and settle it at the traffic dept by getting a poilce report and the rental company will take care of the damages together with the police report. Nothing to worry about. The police will help you in any way they could to settle the situation. Just a piece of advice, bring along with you a friend who understands and speaks arabic language so you can explain your side and have somebody to interpret the conversation for you. Running the situation without the police involved is a big NO in this country. Good luck! ;-)

The bus driver said 850 QR for the bus damage.

The police rapport was not made, but any way i follow your advice and i will go to a police, if there is no problem with DL. Thanks for help.

Dont pay any money to the bus driver.

If you were not legally allowed to drive on your Polish licence, the rental firm would not have rented the car to you.

Dont be afraid.

Sure the rental firm will have insurance for the car and you will have to pay the police Qr.100.00 for the paper work.

Did not think that time, i spoken with a bus driver he is going to check how much its going to cost, if i its not big money i will cover that from my pocket but if it is expensive it will have to go from car rental company. the question is what is better for me. will i get a fine for driving on my Polish DL after 15 from arrival or its ok. ??

If you want to settle the issue with the driver of the bus why did you call the police?
