Tenancy Contract Early Termination

Hi, I need to early terminate a contract for one of my company employee who left the country.
The contract states

If the Tenant wishes to vacate the subject of tenancy or wants to leave the tow, he should offically inform the landlord and obtain his consent.

Now it does not specify any period, I gave notice on 8th March and agent is saying that it will be considered from 1st of June, i.e. March, April and May. he is saying two months i.e. April and May since I gave notice in March.

I want to know how can i disput this based on this, is there a standard goverment clause?

I don't think the case is in your favour, all what you can do is, find somebody who can live in this house for two months and then may be renew the contract later on.

Let me know the capacity and rent of the house.
