Hi there,

I am relocating to Doha with my husband and 2 girls. All new to Qatar and QatarLiving.com. I just wanted to know the cost to get a good maid/nany who mainly does cleanup/watch after the kids while am around and helps with shopping.

Also if we need a good driver how much would this cost?

Thanks in advance

dkelsawi--If you expect your maid to take GOOD care of your kids and want to feel safe leaving them with her, you should pay far more that 700 a month.  The maid's nationality will partly determine the price, as Filipinas charge more (as per agreement between Qatar and their nation), and their English-speaking abilities are in high demand--this puts you in competition with English-speaking expats.  Also, experienced maids who are already in Qatar generally cost more as they are in high demand. The going rate for a good Filipina maid with substantial prior experience and good references from her former employer is between 2,000-2,500 a month.  The driver depends entirely if he lives with you and if you provide the car.  If lives with you, then about the same.  Contracting with a company cost considerably more.
