I would like to know what kind of life style I could expect to live in in Qatar if my monthly income is a little over 9000qar???

We are looking to relocate and I need to know what I can expect. I will be moving from the eastern part of the United States.

which is which?annual salary or your monthly income?having 9000 monthly salary income would depend on how you spend it, to think most workers here get lesser than what you earn.On the other hand, benefits and others will be factors to consider in such decision you would want to make. If you are working in a government company why not try to stay longer so when you resign or get out of the company your end of service benefits will be much higher.

if the housing is provided by the company, then it may be ok. IS children schooling covered by the company?

However, if you have school going children, then you may need to think before you move. An Average school costs around Qar. 1000 per month and a good school may go upto Qar. 2000/- per month.

The main factor is if housing and transportation are provided in your contract. If they are you can live an average lifestyle on QR9000 and possible even save some. If they aren't you seriously need to rethink if coming to Qatar is in your best interest.

Hi,

If you are going to be the only person who works and there is a family, perhaps it may not be enough. However, since you are coming from outside and esp. from the USA, you will probably have a non-local contract which will cover many of your family expenses. Generally speaking, people here live with less than 9 000

I surely hope you get free housing, 'cause if you don't, you will not be able to survive on that salary.
