Description

• Oversee transportation department, including its assets and employees.
• Manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
• Planning routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries.
• Allocating and recording resources and movements on the transport planning system.
• Ensuring all customer relation are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations.
• Communicating effectively with clients and responding to their requirements. 
• Directing all transportation activities. 
• Monitoring transport costs.
• Dealing with the effects of congestion. 
• Assist in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities and customer satisfaction opportunities.

Desired Skills & Experience

Knowledge or a degree in Mechanical Engineering is an excellent candidate Strong organisational skills for planning schedules, journeys and loads excellent budget handling skills the ability to think logically the ability to work flexibly and to make decisions quickly excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels computer skills good leadership and motivational skills a good understanding of transport regulations good geographical knowledge.
