Civil Supervisor
Nature and Scope of Position:
- Conducts routine inspection of the all kind of Buildings, Roads, and Reservoirs, Sport Facilities and utilities services such as Irrigation Net Work, Portable Water Net Work, Sewage drainage network, surface water drainage network etc. and preparation of snags report to send to the Maintenance Contractor.
- Schedule and supervising the daily civil maintenance activities such as painting, Carpentry Work, Masonry and Concreting Work, Plumbing Work, Aluminium Work etc and ensure the procedures and materials comply with maintenance and project specifications, contract documents and/or work instructions.
- Develop preventive maintenance schedule for building and facilities related maintenance and present the plan to the Head of Civil & Project Section and other Heads of Section in the Technical Services for comments and constraints.
- Supervise and ensure the implementation of the approved preventive maintenance plan
- Supervise and ensure timely resolution of corrective maintenance requests/complaints
- Monitor the performance of the technicians and helpers and report back to the project engineer.
- Monitor the performance of other maintenance and operation contractors, take corrective action where appropriate.
- Inspect the work to be done upon the receipt of request for work through the Oracle Work Request, the letters, or verbally by the various department of the university and report to the oracle planner in order for him to issue the Oracle Work Orders.
- Maintain detailed project files and ensure that an updated copy of the documents such as “As Built” drawings are submitted to the Archives and Mail unit at an appropriate stage during the project or on its completion
- Keep records of all maintenance tasks received through QU representative engineers, complaints, and preventive maintenance tasks and the assigned technicians to those tasks.
- Prepare reports on maintenance work detailing the progress, backlog, service levels, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations and discuss these with the Head of Civil & Projects Section.
- Ensure that all the relevant facilities master data and related maintenance related information is updated in QU’s asset/facilities management system in an accurate and timely manner
- Ensure that QU’s security and safety guidelines are followed and assist the Head of Security and Safety in preparing reports for any security and/or safety incidents
- Maintain confidentiality of information at all times
- Perform other job duties as necessary and as directed by operations & maintenance Engineers
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience and Education:
Diploma in Civil Engineering (Minimum 2 years academic + One year in-plant Training Course is preferred) in a recognized university or college.
- Minimum of 5 years of construction project and/or civil maintenance experience in university or a construction services/maintenance organization.
- Fluency in writing, reading and speaking English language is mandatory.
- Excellency in computer skills including using MS Word and Excel, Internet browsing/searching, data transferring, making reports with good formatting…etc
