Leaving the Country
By Survivor30 •
Hi All!
I was hoping somebody can help with this:
I am leaving qatar soon and I know by law my company is paying my flight ticket!
But does anybody know whether I can go to another country first before I go home or do I have to go straight to my home country with this ticket?
Does this depend on your nationality?
Thanks to ALL!
Yes, the law says the company would provide tickets for mobilization / demobilization and on annual leaves for home country but it does not stop any company to issue their employee an indirect/stop over ticket. Its all lies nothing else.
I don think there s such thing as 'when u leave qatar u have to go back to your home country' law here? not that i know of~
Thanks guys for replying to my question!
But it is not about the money. The company also would not care where I go when I leave qatar.
But my company adviced me that it is a LAW in qatar that does not allow me to go anywhere except straight to my home country.
My question is all about the LAW!
If you cannot get cash, just take the ticket and exchange it for one that takes you home via your vacation. You'll still be leaving the country as agreed, and they still provided you a ticket as agreed. You'll have to pay the change fee, but cheaper than going home first probably.
Why do you negotiate with them a cash pay instead of the ticket. This way you choose where to go.

Thanks! My plan i actually to go to another country for vacation first and than fly home directly from there. M company told me that by labour law I have to fly directly home but I cant imagine thats true! But I also couldnt find any part of the labour law with informations about this issue!
like for us, when u are leaving your country, then u need to have the exit permit, once u got the exit permit then u are ok to leave~as for any transit, u d have to check with your company on the ticket, tell them your intention of stopping by at another country before your home country~then maybe they can help you to buy a ticket with 1 stop or something like that, but normally it will cost more than the direct flight~
