Law regarding transportaion

I'm looking a part time job to earn some extra cash, and I noticed that there's a lot of opportunities in the "transportation" department. The thing is, I'm not quite sure if this is illegal or not. I heard you will be arrested if you pick someone up from the roadside. Is this the same thing? Am I legally allowed to take "driver" contracts from this site?
