All,

I am new to Qatar and would like to understand how companies go about offering IT services and marketing services to customers.

Do we need to register with the procurement and wait for RFPs.

how does it work when you work with a local partner who is a Qatari registered company. how can we bid for tender with them ?

how abt direct selling to government customers,is it allowed.

I am open to suggestions and thoughts to plan my sales activities here.

Regards,
Tejas Arora

2. bid as a sub-contracting company with partners while the profit and responsibility shared(again depends on term n condition both company stipulate)

how abt direct selling to government customers,is it allowed.

Firstly mention what product you are selling..

Nope u cant sell the product directly to the government, all has to go through proper channel i.e RFQ - quotation submission- best bidder/quotation selection- contracts- work-order/execution

Again all the tender related to government is mentioned in their website like QP/GTC/LTC etc.

possibly this wud help you

Invitations to tender are usually advertise in the local press, so be sure to buy your daily paper.

To reach purchasers you need to make lots of calls and press the flesh. Many purchasers have their 'favourites' who no doubt give them back handers and it is often difficult to make inroads, so you really need to speak to the specifiers or engineers.

Try organizing a seminar/expo and invite people along to see what you offer.
