encash annual vacation

sunny side up
By sunny side up

I am entitled to 30 days of paid leave after completion of 1 years service.
I also have to give 1 month notice if i decide to leave.
i want to leave the company,
suppose i give them notice now, will they encash my vacation (ie give me money - as though i am taking vacation at the end of my tenure)
or will they say vacation is forfieted because i no longer work for them
in which case its better if i first take my vacation get paid then come back give notice and get paid, it is a waste of time but atleast i dont lose my vacation pay

what do you guys think what are the rules about this?

Enjoy your vacation leave and unwind , be refreshed , may be after it you think differently and continue to work another 1 more year.

better to have your vacation leave with pay and then come back and submit your resignation. Be on the safe side.

What ever rules company have, should follow the minimum described in the Labour Law. Even resigned or not all employees are entitled for 21 days of leave salary + 21 days end of service benefits for each years in service. Later 28 days of both from 6th year.

As per qatar labor law employer should pay to the employee EOS benefits and remaining unpaid vacation upon end of tenure. So you donot have worry.

see your company rules,

diff companies-diff rules,

GOOD companies do pay, in final settlement, for balance leave ..some equal to gross salary n some basic salary,

IT ALL DEPENDS on your HR rules,

Did you settle the other issue?

However, if you don't want to loose your vacation money then it is better to waste some time for it.

Quietly go on vacation , come back & resign.

Work one month, get farewell parties , one way ticket & say bye bye ...
