There are a total of 1,227 mosques, including heritage mosques, in different parts of the country, some of them built by the government and some by Qatari philanthropists.

Less than half of these mosques (536 mosques) host Friday sermons and the remaining 691 mosques are used for daily prayers, said Mohammed Al Kahtani head of the Registration and Documentation Section at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

Al Kahtani says that Qatar had 50 heritage mosques, with unique materials used to construct them. Only half of them are used for prayers. Cover photo by Takeshi M. Fukushima

Qatar Should Make Big Mosques for Friday sermons, Because in most of the Mosque on Friday, Peoples are praying on Road, in the Hot Summer, Because there is no Space inside the Mosque. So in all the Areas where there is friday Sermons, People Should able to Perform inside the Mosque rather then Praying in the Hot Summer.

khalli: the US has 450,000 churches, more than the combined total of all convenience stores, restaurants and hotels/motels which is about 350,000; you can knock God and religion all you want in your pseudo-scientific world; in the real world around you, God, regardless of religion and region, always has been a priority for people and always will be; and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it; sure, we're brainwashed idiots and simpletons; but what are you and your superior scientific minds going to do about it? :-)
