I am planning to move apartments this week and the comments here were helpful :D
Since I am moving with a child, I am considering the location, floor size and cleanliness of the apartment. The apartment should be in close proximity to well established supermarkets, pharmacies etc. If you have a kid, consider providing them with ample space to play and move about especially now since you can't take them to parks. Finally, the building you live in should be clean and free of pests and just clean in general. Disinfect everything and give all surfaces a good wipe for safe measure :)
There are certain important things you need to keep in mind when taking fully furnished apartment/villa on rent.
First of all most real estate agents are SOBs in Qatar. I am not saying all of them are that way. But you need to be careful. If the place you are taking on rent has been occupied earlier, please make sure that you take in writing from the estate agent the items are second hand especially the electronic items. This is because when you leave the accommodation, the estate agent people will come down and check all the items. If there are any damages, they will charge you the cost of a "new one"! Make sure air conditioners, ovens, washing machines, refrigerators, ovens etc are in perfect condition before you sign the agreement. You can ask them to give you three days to check out everything. That is a safe step.
Top priority is price. Make sure you're not overpaying as rent prices have come down a little and there is a lot of supply. Be sure to fully inspect the apartment before you sign anything. Also check parking situation, if there's any nearby construction going on. Look at the cars in the parking lot - will give you an idea of the people living there. Try to make multiple visits to the building even if you have to go by yourself and just look around.
Top priority should be location. Proximity to the workplaces/schools of the family members, accessibility to supermarkets/hospitals/restaurants. This, as well as parking space.

For family style villas that have a bit of a garden Ain khalid and Abu hamour are both great locations, close to many schools and shops.
You need to check the AC and its maintenance, If the Kharamaa is included with the rent. You can ask the landlords and the agents about this.
