Moving in to Doha from Dubai

Hi. I would be moving in next month to Qatar from Dubai. Is it possible to have my vehicle shipped to Doha? How much would it approximately cost? Kia Sorento 2011 model 125,000km.

My employer will not provide transportation to/from the workplace so I am thinking of bringing in my own car to save up on taxi fare.

What are the requirements to able to bring my wife and my newborn son? They are also staying with me here in Dubai. Apart form the minimum monthly salary, do I need to have a tenancy contract?

Hi jfernandes, I really have no other choice because my employer has to cancel my employment visa. Can i have your number so I can give you a call?

I was in the same situation as you, a year ago... It is better to sell your car & buy another in Qatar rather than going through all hassles. You will not be able to transfer License... but have to take Direct Test process takes around 4 months.

With regards to your family, it is better you don't Cancel your UAE visa as it will give you & your family Visa on Arrival for a month & can be extended for another 3 months. otherwise you wont be able to get your family for atleast 8-9 months as you need 6 month bank statement to apply for Family visa & 3 month statement for family Visit visa apart from other documents.

hello :) you can bring vehicle which is less than five years old. more than 5 year old vehicles you can use in qatar but the number plate will be the same which you used in uae. But you have to go back to UAE to pass the vehicle once the istimara expires :D

I believe that you can only bring over a vehicle which is less than five years old

First of all why do you want to go through the hassle of bringing your vehicle when you can get the same or newer model in Doha. Secondly, you have the option of either driving the vehicle to Doha after obtaining all the legal documents for this purpose or have it transported through a cargo company in Dubai.
