Newly-elected FIFA President Gianni Infantino, on his first full working day, dismissed the idea of taking away the 2018 and 2022 World Cups from Russia and Qatar respectively.

Instead, he has urged the tournament’s organisers to deliver ‘the best World Cups in history.’

“Concerning Qatar and Russia, the decisions were taken in 2010 by the executive committee, but since 2010 there has been speculation and allegations and noise. It’s now necessary to organise the best World Cup in history in Russia in 2018 and in 2022 in Qatar,” Infantino said in Zurich on Monday.

Qatar have invested heavily into getting the nation ready in time for the world’s biggest football festival in 2022.

While continuing to open up, it has also made several reforms which continues to get applause from all around.

We’re now sure that come 2022 and all roads in the footballing world will lead to Doha.

It was all press hype.. Once the World Cups had been awarded , they couldn't be taken away... The litigation costs alone would have bankrupted FiFa
