Why Do People Usually Fight Here in QL?

Let's just say...a heated discussion (not that it would make a difference) of a topic/thread..

It's what QL is for...discuss topics that affects the people who resides and work here in Qatar, and/or folks who are planning/on their way to reside/live here in Qatar.

Sometimes, a friendly banter between some folks makes the forum a lively site whereas HIJACKING is somewhat became the norm....lol

However, the discussion reaches a different level if it develops into:

- personal attacks on board which includes DEFAMATION and CHARACTER ASSASINATION;

- bringing it outside the forum (to real life) which is utterly ridiculous and childish and close to INSANITY (my opinion);

I've been a member of this website for 1 year and 4 weeks and what saddens me is that most of the active posters that I used to know here have all gone or became inactive for one reason or the other.

day by day as im becoming an old member of QL .... im getting to know better why people usually fight here in QL :)

sometimes u really coulnt hold ur temper and u tend to get it loosen up.

o god forgive me if i had lost my temper today, though it was slight only.

It takes awhile to get used to online communities.  This is the first online community that I've been involved in. 

There are all kinds of genders here and different cultures and different professions.  If I try to list them, I'll probably end up starting a fight.   Also, people differ in how thick their skin is.  Some people are think-skinned and are easily insulted or hurt by QL comments while others are thick-skinned are not vulnerable and nothing insults/hurts them. 

I never intend to start fights but to make provocative posts.  I like to keep things lively.

if you what to fight just take it to the play ground in any kind of sport that better than just nagging away like chicks

it looks always the fighting start when some ppl start to make joke for the other comments or opinion

and in some case as i see it became personal between two memebers, i mean each time one of them send comments the another send opposite opinion

some times also it some memeber here are racist

if you happen to be a nightowl like me, im sure you have read all the threads about hatred, hostility, bashing, accusations, etc. everyday was an early nightmare even if im awake. i despise it a the beginning but got the hang of it later on. i already found myself enjoying reading their nasty posts. one thing i learned is that when you dont want what you are reading, then leave the forum and proceed to the next.

just like "real families, people argue , fight etc..part of life really...If people didnt argue whether in their own families or on Ql, id say something is wrong...

Some fight to get respect coz they dont have any respect, some fight for money coz they dont have any money.

Some fight for no reason coz they are crazy.

To get your message across the board you dont have to fight.

you're right cris..when your topic goes elsewhere, as the author you have the ability to bring them back when you still dont have the answers. otherwise, if the posts have satisfied you..or served its purpose...let them have fun..but fights should not be offensive...

They fight becasue they love each other very simple ;) They argue and complaint becasue they want more refined relationship and closeness and all other thing taht can make ties more colourful and helpful for each other.

Well we fight at QL there are two diffrent kinda things...

1) IF there is some stupid bugger, then he needs to get a little stick up his azz...for that he might not like it and so the fight starts, over topics, like religion, culture, racism which all of them are quite delicate topics...

2) Some of us fight (DaRude, Smoke, ME) fight for supremacy and accessibility of a new comer on QL (I'm talking of Girls alright...)...lol...we fight to entertain and others well just dont know why...by the way, DaRude beats me and smokey in the race for any new girl on QL...damn DaRude, but we are catching up...O yes, Khanan is a disguised backstabber, on the name of marraige he approaches girls, damn him, anyways his wife has broken his leg for doing so...loool...so he is now at home taking care of the kids...Loool...

QLers come from different ethnic backgrounds... I think some write for fun, some try to prove their point and etc... you know ultimately its a discussion forum, any one can write what ever they feel like... Most of them are expats ofcourse they have alot to do...
