For that budget, you should be able to find a Toyota Camry? Here in Saudi, you can get a 2004 model for that money, if you're looking for reliablility etc etc....

If you're looking for something different then go European, but beware the running costs.

Its a good car even 307 or 308. there was some issue with the gearbox from 2001 to 2004 models (if my mem is correct). Hope, now its clear on new models.

Wish you happy driving in Qatar >> cheers!!

Never compare the europian cars and Japanese cars. Euro cars are very complicated in the electricals and technology. Even the design also be sexier than any vehicles on road. Fual consumption will be less compare to the other vehicles.. because the vehicle will be a value for money for in its first customer.

When coming to Tiida, a light weight compact car. Sometimes you may feel the body is made of egg shell. Performance is pretty good, pickup, acceleration etc.

You can handle the vehicle just like a pro driver..! Perfect balance of turning corners or cruvy turns even its 120km/hr (note: the driver must have a clear idea in which gear the vehicle to turn the curve! else 'm sorry). But peo.. the backside has a tendency to come out of the track and the vehicle is slighly go out of the path.. say skipp/skid/slip.

Gearbox i suggest tiida. Sometimes peogeot gear box fails and it will show you in the display screen. 307 is very spacious inside and luxurier than Tiida.

Overall: 307 has a respect on road. But Tiida doesn't. Since most of the rent a cars and reckless drivers using TIIDA.. check next time on road, just count how many tiidas' on road without any hit? scratch?

Other Coices:

Corolla

Galant

Altima

mazda 3

mazda 6

Suzuki Swift

Scoda Octavia/ Superb

Passat

Golf, etc... it will go on. All upto you!!

French and cars shouldn't be put together in one sentence, unless the sentence is "Do not buy a French car"

It's an economical car from my point of view. But as a europian vehicle it's resale value is bit disappointing. It's tough built, sturdy performing vehicle. I found only draw back is speed.. it can go a max of 130-135km/hr. Else everything is excellent. Don't bother about the spares... there is a scrap yard is there in indutrial area they are only dealing with beejoos'.

So happy driving... cheers..!!

for the terms of pronouncing it, its a french word,so sure you dont need to pronounce the last letter T.

For buying such a car here, i think its not a good idea. I have learned the lesson before by not buying a japanese car. I bought an Audi. European cars are nice to own and drive but not in these countries. The maintenance is expensive and no one but the company knows how to fix it good. Peugeot`s have bad AC, and most of them have problem in their automatic gearbox. SO its up to u then.
