saeed, of course, it's not the reason for sleeping disorder. what I was trying to convey is, if someone starts QLing in the night since they don't feel sleepy, it helps to kill the time for sure. but, sometimes we stay in QL even after feeling to sleep just waiting for a reply in QL. :)

lanin, how about working all day long so that a person gets tired miserably at the end of the day and thus would go to bed straight at 10p.m.?? :))

One Spot.....

Keep a daily schedule for "walk or running" in evening or just after evening.....it would be for 30min to 1 hr.....try and see the difference....

NGTD, have you ever been in the situation when everyone around you is soundly asleep and you are struggling with your sleep? Every minute seems like an hour and there is nothing you can do. Lying in bed fully awake with no sign of sleep is a torture.

QL helps kill time in that situation for me.

And those female who log on during those unsocial hours are the bad girls like myself as per some :-)

By soniya• 2 Sep 2010 13:39
soniya

Oh NGTD, so do you keep your eye on every QLer who logs after 10p.m.???

By drmana• 2 Sep 2010 13:38
drmana

NGTD, Ql actually helps survive when one is having difficulty sleeping :-)

The remedy I know can be considered illegal & immoral ...:)

On a serious note...remove all electronic gadgets from your bedroom...TV, laptop etc....if you use your mobile as alarm keep it far away from you...if used to a nap in afternoon, dont be in bed after 4PM...stick to bedtime schedule and start preparing urself about 1 hr. before that initially...listen to some soft music to pacify yourself..:)

If you try what n100md has said, share it here...it sounds interesting.

Few home remedies

Few home remedies

Apply one or two drop coconut oil to eye lids before you go to bed. (An eyelid is a thin fold of skin that covers and protects an eye)

Precaution if excess oil the eyes will get irritation.

Castor oil- for deep sleep(one drop enough)

Coconut oil/Olive oil-for moderate sleep

Jonson & Jonson baby oil mild-For moderate sleep

Try this if any comments most welcome. I hope this will work out instead of PILLS

you really have to understand what the problem is. it could be a lot of things. for most of the people it is stress or diet. although, some people have serious sleep disorders not related to these factors - then only doctor can help!

regarding the sleeping pills - I assume you're taking pills you got over the counter - these are almost never effective in serious sleep problems, go to a doctor

Good sleep hygiene:

=Stick to a regular bedtime schedule. Try to get out of bed at the same time each morning, even if it's a weekend or holiday.

=Avoid napping during the day.

=Avoid stressful activities and vigorous exercise for two hours before going to bed. Do exercise regularly, but earlier in the day.

=Before going to bed, try relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing, yoga, or meditation.

=Make sure your bedroom is dark, quiet, and cool. Use earplugs or eye shades if needed.

=Leave the bedroom if you can't sleep. Go into another room and read, or do something relaxing and quiet.

=Avoid substances that contain caffeine, such as coffee, tea, soft drinks, or diet pills.

=Avoid alcohol and nicotine before bed.
