Sadd and AC Milan rocked!

Greeker
By Greeker

Frankly, i expected a bigger victory margin than 2-1. Sadd played their hearts out and AC Milan reciprocated, almost just half-heartedly.

But well, they came, they saw and they left us in awe.

Good show, Sadd, good show, Milan. We love you all! I'm sorry i couldn't take better pics. This was all that my iphone camera could capture. But well, until next time!

But these are the pics. It was exciting and so good to see a FULL stadium, well, almost! This is how football matches should be played!

Rip off in my opinion, the worst seasts for 250QR, at this scale I wonder how much a good seat is!!! for an exibition game to celebrate someone's jubilee anniversary, the charges should be symbolic.

Although kaka and Ronaldinho failed to turn up booted and ready (they came in briefly during half time to give away a golden sword to jaffal), the game itself was interesting.

The Italians may have played with their one leg tied (if you get my drift), but still it was an awesome display from Al Sadd. They defended hard and came very close to scoring an equaliser on many occasions.

I personally feel that more than the result, it was football who ended up the winner. Although the attempts at a Mexican wave failed miserably (despite a section of the audience trying umpteen times), the mood was visible for all to see.

This is how a football match should be played. This game proved that if there are good matches, all roads will lead to the stadium hosting it. Bravo to the organisers, the players and the audience.

YOU made it happen.

Stand up, take a bow, make us proud!

Your female hormones doing the talking again...

Apparently , after the match they found him wandering on the roof.

Someone had told him the drinks were on the house!

Didn't realize there were any comments on QL. I think he's probably just a nice guy.

Beckham is a "stand up guy". I don't know why people think he wouldn't be.

A friend of mine works in advertising and spent two days with him and said that he couldn't be a nicer person, always happy to accommodate any requests from fans.

Obviously part of it's down to good PR, but I think he is genuinely nice.

Gypsy said "Saw Becks and the whole team yesterday at the W Hotel. Have to say Becks is actually a pretty stand up guy, we were told no pictures but he smiled and let us snap away and even came back when someone said "wait I didn't get the picture!"

- Then he or his publicist (most probably) read you people's comments on QL and must have suggested that he do his bit to please his fans and manage his investors. Well, good.

I left approx 15 minutes before the end to avoid the traffic (I think a lot of people had the same idea as the traffic was horrendous) as i left I noticed that there were hardly any players in the AC Milan dugout, then realised that Becks, etc. were already suited and outside signing autographs, etc. I thought vodafone were very generous giving a mobile number as a present! Shame that everyone will be able to txt him now!

So Greeker....did the Golden Balls Toil? What position did he play?

2-1....I really was not expecting Al Saad to score.....I was expecting them to give Milan a tough time.

My wife and I left 20 mins before the end to wait for the players near their team bus. Just as we got near the bus Beckham was outside checking his luggage or something. There were only around 15 people there to see him as the game was still playing. Becks' Arab escorts were trying to usher him back inside but he insisted on stopping to sign some autographs and have some pictures taken. As soon as word got round that he was there people gathered and began screaming, but by the time he went inside Becks had already signed my wife's LA Galaxy shirt and my 1 riyal note.

It was nice to see that he was prepared to take some time out for his fans.
