Passports of Arab, Muslim states among the 10 worst in the world

The passports of seven Arab or Muslim states are among the 10 worst in the world in terms of free access to other countries, according to a recently published Henley & Partners Visa Restrictions Index.

Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Pakistan, Palestine, Eriteria, Nepal, Sudan, Sri lanka and Lebanon, remain in the bottom 10 places of the ranking. This means that the citizens of these countries enjoy the least freedom of international travel, according to the index.

The United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain are ranked 56, 57 and 59 respectively in the freedom of travel index.

I read all your comments in other threads and YET I could not comprehend your wayward comments when it comes to Philippines. What's troubling you?

A mistake by one is not the mistake of all. You want to blame the whole system because you saw some mistake. Shame on you!

And your tag line, do you even understand it?

me of being in a payroll of the POEA is a LIBELOUS accusation, that's make's you a big LIAR!

And you even have the guts to put that "i love you" thread. You are a disgrace to yourself!

RUMORS about Philippines!

By Speedysid• 5 Oct 2013 10:00

True..and it is a sad part, especially for those who aren't highly educated. I know from one Filipino, about a Filipina who had the worst of time to travel here to Qatar just because of the authorities back there.

Though the government seems to be taking up such issues, it isn't enough, it seems.

Well @ QLers, Most Asian countries face this problem... What are all your opinions and suggestions to improve on this?

Snobbish rich countries are afraid you will come and never leave, hence you need a visa. same with Qatar, they want to make sure you go home when you are done.

palestinians have a passport-like thing called a travel document. most of them are issued by egypt and the text are in french and arabic, never in english. some are issued by lebanon and jordan. i have seen a passport issued by the palestinian authority only once though, it was in english.

haven't seen one lately, but the names and other details are mostly handwritten and the children are part of their mother's travel document. there could be many pictures on one passport/travel document.

philippines is number 69 and india is at 74

full list here: https://www.henleyglobal.com/fileadmin/pdfs/visarestrictions/Global%20Ranking%20-%20Visa%20Restriction%20Index%202013-08.pdf

the only thing i don't like about my passport is the hassle of having to apply for visas in them snobbish rich countries. but at least we get in visa-free to southeast asian countries except myanmar. most people need to apply for visas for entry to vietnam. they also need to pay the visa on arrival fees in cambodia. and we get visa on arrival at certain points of entry in india.

i don't know what's wrong with other people, but i never had to bribe any phil. immigration officer when travelling as a tourist.

Philippines is not on the list as the poor Filipinos are not allowed to leave their own country unless bribes are paid to POEA and immigration officals!

it does matter, not only color of passport gets you better job(salary) in GCC but also ease of Visa on Arrival.

Frequent voyagers know it : The face of immigration officer says it all; for some with smile and for some those ‘excruciating snubbing eyes’ even if he doesn’t ask you a blunt ‘why?
