Good SE Asian Restaurants in Doha?

Can anyone recommend good Thai / Malaysian / Indonesian / Japanese or any other southeast asian places to eat here, and addresses if yes? I love the Thai shack and the Moon Palace, have tried Asian Tradtional in Markhiya which was awful (may just have been a bad night - but very sticky MSG-packed sauces and not very authentic thai curries) I really miss vietnamese food in particular, can you get any here?? Has anyone tried the other eastern place on Al Mirqab, think it's called Far East?

thanks!

Thai Snack : www.mythaisnack.com

Far East restaurant

Both of those thai restaurant located in the same street, Al Mirqab Street.

elxxxv ... if you come from Ramada ... in C ring road ... make a U turn after Toys R Us ..., you will pass applebees, hardees, Mc.D ... take the right turn after Hardees.

Go all the way ... pass 1 traffic light (T Junction) ..., pass Doha Clinic. If you see Turkish Central on the right you should see far east restaurant on the left. You will see big prawn on the building itself.

that was the one which was bad when we went - but I have read many good reviews so think we should try again - the things we ordered off the philippino menu were good, it was the thai and chinese which was not.

Nothing wrong with mars bars and cheese & onion crips either...! ;o)

Otter, there's a very decent Malaysian restaurant at Souq Waqif by the name of Seri Kebaya. Don't really know how to describe its location in the Souq - it's on one of the "main streets" with a couple of other eating places around. I presume you know how to get to Souq Waqif ...

Don t know of this is the place you tried, but it's off TV roundabaout, on the rhs, near the Turkish restaurant. Very clean and done out very nicely, they do Filipno, Thia and Chinese food. I love it. But then again I loke Mars bars and chessand onion crisps at the same time...
