do you have half of these traits of a dog?

If you can start the day without caffeine,

If you can get going without pep pills,

If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,

If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles,

If you can eat the same food everyday and be grateful for it,

If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time,

If you can overlook it when those you love take it out on

you when, through no fault of yours, something goes wrong,

If you can take criticism and blame without resentment,

If you can ignore a friend's limited education and never correct him,

If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend,

If you can face the world without lies and deceit,

If you can conquer tension without medical help,

If you can relax without liquor,

If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,

If you can say honestly that deep in your heart you have no

prejudice against creed, color, religion or politics,

Then, my friend, you are almost as good as your dog!

are you truthfully a "dog" friend? do you by sheer greace possess some of these qualities? then, you are indeed a 'dog' and a true friend. a reliable person to be with.

many dogs are definitely much better than some humans. it is sheer arrogance for people to think they are superior to animals. and from what i have experienced here, i can conclude that some dogs are more hygienic than many humans. their cleanliness will only be a reflection of how clean the humans around them are. it doesn't matter if they live inside the house or not.

this is one thing i don't understand about a faith that supposedly looks down on other creatures. forgive my ignorance on why this is so but you people are missing out a lot. dogs are some of the most special species ever created by god and life is so much better if we have them around.

@ missteacher, thanks for your timely comment. i just want to react to it, at least if only to buttress your submission about the arabians; though, it is claimed that dog does not have a place in islam, but isn't it proper to cultivate some of the significant aspects of dog and apply it to our ways of living... since islam makes peace, love and tolerance as its primary tenets-all of these roll into one are encompass in the characteristics of a dog... until human beings learn to live in tolerance with each other before we can experience what islam preaches- peace!

excellent post.

The funny part is how we think we are superior to animals and define intelligence relative to monetary gains..

good post faheed. Dogs and humans just cannot be compared....humans are a miserable pile of s**t whose lives are dramatically improved by the presence of a dog(s).

To be considered reliable and a true friend a human needs to be compared to a dog...amazing.

it is not hygienic to keep a dog in the house

If the saliva of a dog touches you or any part of your clothing, then it is required of you to wash the body part touched and the item of clothing touched by the dog’s mouth or snout.
