This is Qatar, to be honest I am continually surprised anything gets pulled off here let alone a party in the desert.

Praise should go to everyone involved good show. If you can sort out the trouble makers, who were almost exclusively and shockingly Arab then that will be cool look forward to the next one.

By Master_Jay• 10 Jun 2007 18:44
Master_Jay

Hey,

I will look into this and see why they where not ejected.

The night was almost perfect! & yes.. maybe the best thing done in Qatar!!

On the other hand..

People have to remember that this is Qatar & no matter how well its organized on our side, there is always room for companys that have been brought in doing stupid things like showing up at 5pm instead of 7am on the event day!!

You ask them why and they give a stupid answer, we are not dealing with normal well educated people on that side of things...

But at the end of the day, it fall's on us and we must be responsible for that because its us that promote the show.

But you are correct, we will look at this and improve on it ten fold next time around.

Thanks for the support!

By anonymous• 10 Jun 2007 15:21
anonymous

And quite probably the best thing done in Qatar.

The security, well if you paid a fortune for them well all I can say is better luck next time.

If someone causes a fight you should be ejected immediately not left to maurade around the site looking for someone else to fight with.

It was a great night Judge Jules was excellent and our group had a blast.

Next time though just make sure that idiots are thrown out. And I might add actually have more than 2 guys who usually work in Palomas.

Good work hopefully we will see another one soon.

By Master_Jay• 10 Jun 2007 13:51
Master_Jay

Hey

I can agree with some of that.

I hate it when individuals waste it for the rest of the crowd. The security company that we paid a fortune for wasn’t up to scratch in some areas.

We weren’t expecting over 2000 people, that’s where some of the problems came from.

Obviously with so many people you are bound to get a few idiots inside at an event of this size…

I saw 4 fights myself, although they all happened after 3am.

I’ve had a lot of messages on face book praising the night… Another first for Qatar…

Myself, Judge Jules & all the other DJs had a blast, and it was a huge success on that side of things.

Some people have said it’s the best night they have seen in Qatar.

It’s always good to get constructive feedback which has been stated above by some people.

I have taken all your comments on board; back to the drawing table on the above points & I’m sure you will see a vast improvement in the above areas in the next desert heat.

Just a small note though, there weren’t as many TEENAGERS as stated above, it was a good mix of young & old...

PICS COMING SOON

Thanks for the support!

Ah ha well sadly that wasn't me as she couldn't make it last night. She is very pretty though !!!.

I was with the rest of work in one of the tents towards the back next to the Bar B Q.

I thought I saw someone holding a fire extinguisher dam I wish I had gone in for a closer look, I stayed back fearing a fireball !!.

By Gypsy• 9 Jun 2007 13:04

I think you did aviduser. I remember seeing a guy with a really pretty Korean girl and the thought crossed my mind, hmmmm I wonder if that is aviduser?? If you looked at the stage during the fireshow you probably saw me, I was the one with the fire extingusher in case my friend lit someone on fire.

I thought security should have gotten the kids out too. I remember dancing at watching these young Qatari boys passing around a very drunk Western girl if you know what I mean, and I was so disgusted. I tried to say something to her but she got beligerent, so I just left the dance floor. Stupid kids.

Gypsy I must have walked past you all night, do you think security should have thrown out those idiots, I couldn't believe security didn't get those idiots out, I thought it was a disgrace.

By Gypsy• 8 Jun 2007 20:40
Gypsy

I had a good time. My friend did the fire dancing and she was awesome! But yes, a lot of drunk Qatari teenagers and teenagers in general, acting very drunk and very stupid. THis wasn't helped by the fact that me and my mature friends in their late twenties forgot to bring booze with us and were high on Red Bull, :P.

Feel a bit better for missing it now. But still think I have missed a rare opportunity for some quality dance tunes. Will listen to the judge on Radio 1 this weekend and see id doha get a mention.

Fights, sounds like the old days of school discos in my home town, any excuse for a scrap - but we were young and stoopid then.

Pretty Well set up, nice location, Great DJs we all had a lot of fun.

Sadly ruined, well not ruined, but the shine taken off by the fact that I saw more fights last night than I have since I was last in my home town. The place was full of Arab teenagers and guys in their 20's who had managed to score some booze and boy did they not know how to drink. There was P@@sed up Arabs everywhere, fighting each other almost constantly throughout the night. Security were a joke and didn't expel the trouble makers so one guy who was fighting was subdued only to be back an hour later fighting. Disgraceful behaviour. Now I see why they are not allowed to drink, they act like total pricks.

Bloody disgrace, if they are ever to do an event like this again they need more security and a much tougher door policy thank god they ban Qataris from the Qube or it would be a blood bath.

There will never be peace in the Middle East if this is what happens when they have a few beers. I was disgusted at the behaviour.

Now we were not perfect some of our group had to retire to the dunes for a break but NONE of us have EVER thrown a punch or started a fight whilst being drunk here.

I Imagine the fact that you are not going to be deported encouraged them. Although to be fair I don't know if they were local or from other Arab countries, all I heard was the language.

Apart from that it was great.

So how good was it? So sad I missed this one - was it awesome?

When is the next big event?

Hey guys,

Was out at the site last night and tonight...

The weather is perfect.. Low humidity & crisp air in the desert.

Im really excited about this, Judge Jules is a legend.

The setup is amazing, this is the biggest dance event to date here.

Not to give to much away lol...

Ive been to dozens of events with Judge Jules playing over the last 10 yrs and i cant remember a bad one. Infact come to think of it, i cant remember any of them at all. lol. Weve got our taxi booked already. 50 Riyals return, between four of us. Its pennies mate.

Being semi new to Doha im expecting big things from Global DJ'S, because all other places ive been out so far have been poor. Fingers crossed.! [img_assist|nid=17864|title=Chicks dig Guys with skills|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=440|height=440]

Been bored at work today so trying to think about the weekend. This concert sounds great - but is it not hot in the desert - even at this time of the year? What about the humidity too?

Maybe someone who knows more about the desert here can help me so I can make the decision for the weekend, so many events on in one weekend!!!!! I just can't decide!
