Salam to all malaysian and others nationality,

I would appreciate any opinion from anyone would be gratefull. It worth or not moving to Qatar.I'm from Malaysia and below are the benefits and offer to me. My experience is about 5 years in oil n gas.

Company : RasGas (Permanent), Grade SS7, Family Package
Basic : 10,884 QR
Transportation 2000 QR
Location Allow : 1785 QR
Total : 14669 QR

Family Package including
Free accomodation with utilities paid or
housing allow :14200 QR per month

Furnishing Allow : 55000 QR
Medical & Dental care
School fees for the kids (QAR375 per schooling child per month)
37 working days annual leave
Annual flight ticket for wife & kid
Free interest car loan

My concern,

1) How much saving i can made if i come to Qatar with my
wife and 3 years old child?
2) Which is better, taking the housing allowance or Ras
Gas acomodation?
3) Anyone know what is Grade SS7?
4) Is there any house to be rent at AL Khor if i intend
to take the housing allowance? How much will be the
rent per month at Al Khor?
5) How much will be the school fee if i take the housing
allowance since if i take the Ras Gas accomodation the
school fee will be free.?
6) Can i purchase a car with my basic salary?

Appreciate in any input for me to make a decision. I'm really in doubt. Thank you for all the helps.

If you take from me, then this seems to be a fair package. Only that school fees confusing me.

BTW, there is a beautiful compound in Al -Khor. You may be placed there only. So, get that housing allow thing cleared.

Everything's gonna be alright!!!

a little low. I would have thought somewhere between 13,000 and 15,000. The rest of the package is good though.

I am planning engineer with 5 years experience. Could you advise if the salary is good enough or can be negotiate higher? Thanks for your advise.

You say on your details page that you are an engineer but that could mean anything.

So for the package if you are a tea boy its great take it. If you are a senior process engineer do not.

Only take the accom allowance if you get an assurance that it will increase in line with rents, otherwise you may find you are out of pocket next year. Much better if you take a Ras Gas House at Al Khor Community.
