Hi to all. it is my first time to post here. I am really in need of advise from you, as i am in the peek of making a decision.

I am offered a job in Doha Qatar as a Sales and Marketing Executive from a private company. My basic salary is 3200 , 1000 accommodation and 500 transportation. No gratuity and paid sick leaves. I would like to ask if the salary and benefits will suffice my stay. I am single and it's my first time to work in Qatar. Your advise will help me much in my decision or for any negotiation with my employer. Thank you so much and i would really appreciate your guidance.

@spybot: thank you for the information on the definition of a sales person...

Sales and Marketing executive does not only limit to assisting customers in a shop or department store, or any establishment etc.

And yes you are right, one of my responsibilities is to put plans into actions..and the employer made some good gestures by improving their offer to me..

Noun

A person with senior managerial responsibility in a business organization.

Adjective

Having the power to put plans, actions, or laws into effect.

If you gonna have those powers as I have indicated above well, then u getting paid a real slave labour salary. Makes you think doesn't it.....

yes good luck paying all your package for accommodation/transportation and maybe you will get some of them for food.

agree with just1s and poolsrus, try to negotiate otherwise you will regret it and then ban for 2 years then another open thread asking for the ban if its right for 2 years and about the NOC that they are not providing you. so why dont you try to avoid headache and negotiate or/and apply for another better one.

It depends on your exp and qualification and on the position you are hired...

But according to me its a very bad offer, coz the cost of living here in doha is very high..

If you will be working in close door transportation allowance is fine, if you will be an outdoor sales then your company should provide a car for you or else 500 allowance will be your nightmare.

bosedi: nope! they're not issuing me car. it is an allowance for public transportation..

joham: thanks!

For first timer the offer is a bit good., but you have to negotiate more for accommodation at least min 2000, you will get a little bit decent room.

Draft Expenses:

Accom: 1000 - Sharing room/partitioned room in a family ..etc...

Comm/Internet: 200 - Min per/mos it depends how you utilized it

Food: 500 - Min / depends your lifestyle

Trans: 500 - Min / depends on the distance and the schedule of work, if it is double shift in a day it will be more

Remaining will be budget for your shopping spree and savings depends on your lifestyle.

The offer is not bad BUT if you can negotiate more its better.

Good luck. kita-kits sa doha.

If there is no way to find another job, just accept it as your stepping stone in working abroad, although the offer is less than the minimum compared to cost of living in Doha.
