what do u think is the purpose of life

mimas100
By mimas100

What we all need to understand is that we all aret purposeless and have a purpose of pleasing our creator,,we all try to seek the acknowledgement of humans and due to human unpredictibilty we usually tend to have a life only trying to please others and staying depressed ourselvesjus to seek their acknowledgement

In the Quran God says that He created us in different situations in life to see who does the best of deeds.rather than only try to attain succes in this temporary life

and that we will all be brought toa ccount for what we have done
dont you think so this makes sense to the whole purpose f our life

There is a BIG difference between the purpose of LIFE and OUR purpose as living species TO life.

Humans are developed animals with basically a brain with unlimited imagination and sharpness which developed through million of years.

Humans are VERY social animals, thus our purpose is collective, we are very well balanced intellectually and physical, thus our role is to develop this earth for the citizens who can't develop it. (By citizens, I mean animals, plants etc...)

I don't believe I was created to do anything. My purpose in life is to live it and hurt as few people in the process as possible.

Obeying His commandments and His commandments are not hard to follow.

It is not how man wants to worship Him but how He wanted to be worship. Never go beyond or under what is Written!

the purpose of life for me :

1.To live without fear and worry, as those are the enemies of man (and woman)

2. To think and feel positive, as thoughts create reality.

3. To do unto others what I wish to be done unto me.

Remember Brothers, THE GOD has clearly mentioned in the Qur'an (cannot give reference as dont know exact) which means something like

" The God prefers the one who works (in addition to obedience to the obligatory) over the one who spends all the time in the masjid in remembrance"

this is the key to success in this life and the hereafter {hereafter broadly refers to the life in grave and the judgement day (gonna be a long day) and the rest of eternity (heaven has levels so does hell)}

now re think about the purpose of life

People fear God, because they want to live in this world. This is just absurd, because they always say life after death is more important.

“All people worship God the One, but not all people see Him alike.

Similarly to try to come up with a singular, precise objective to something as all-encompassing and different as 'life' is impossible. Different people have different purposes in life.

It's akin to asking what the universe means. To whom...in what context? But if your question is concerning just my own life, then it really is personal and in no way a universal answer. And as far as everyone is concerned, the only way to live is in a way where everyone is concerned....whatever that means.

where the purpose of life for some is not the same for others.

Some questions to be answered is like:

1. Why did I come to this life?

2. Why did I marry this girl and not that?

and you can build many why's.

For me the purpose of life is to establish good deeds and learn from other in a way which secure my self from harming and insulting others and at the same time help those who need help and be an example in flourishing the open minded thinking and apply live and let live.

I heard it and read it again and again and again, that the people who say the purpose in life are to worship god and be obedient to him.

In every Scripture, the purpose of life is to worship the God and attain spiritual freedom.

And then what?

Is only to worship my Lord in a manner pleasing to him and as adviced by our Prophet. It is why He created me. And by worship it means not only prayers, fasting ,charity, etc but also being a good human being, being just, never oppressing and harming another, being a loving and good wife, mom, daughter, sister and friend, etc. Truly I am thankful for this life of mine and hope and pray for all the success of this world and the next.

Yes you are right more than half probably. I believe God is very forgiving and if you do something wrong and mean when you say sorry then he will grant penance. If however, that person persistently does wrong and carries on leading a life in this way then no way will he reach heaven. He will perish in the fire of hell.

I know this is different from you and I have these kind of discussions with my very good Muslim friend and usually we just agree to disagree and get on with it! :)

Missteacher i respect your opinion as well

but i would just comment on it a little if you dont mind

abt ur view,if that was the purpose of life, then almost half the world fails the purpose and and they have no recompense for all the bad things they do?

I believe the purpose of life is to experience life to the fullest. Make mistakes and learn from them. Be the best person you can be and treat everyone as equals. If you lead this kind of life, you have achieved what God put you on this earth for and you will, God willing, end up in heaven.

However, I do respect everyone else's belief of why we have been put on earth and believe everyone has a right to have their own opinion.

ur absolutely right

The Purpose of Life

Our life on this earth has a specific purpose; it is not the result of nature's accident, nor is it a punishment for eating the fruit of the forbidden tree. We are here according to God's plan: the wordly life is a test; it is a chance to prove ourselves as deserving of the eternal blissful life in the hereafter. God did not create us just for few years of this life. To be created just for this world's life would amount to a joke played by the Creator with the human species. Muhammad, the Prophet of Islam, said," You have not been created to perish; on the contrary, you have been created for eternal life."

According to Islam, the final destination of mankind is the life hereafter. At the end of time, all human beings will be resurrected and will be held accountable for their wordly life. The life in hereafter will be an eternal life. However, whether it will be blissful or full of sorrow depends on how we spend our present life.

It was to help mankind in achieving this objective that God sent various prophets and messengers to guide them. Muhammad is the last prophet, and Islam is the final and complete version of God's message.

Been asking the same question over and again, no luck for a satisfactory answer so far. Only that God wants me here, for all I know, but what for?

I see nothing that exciting in chasing after the pleasures of life. Once I've gotten one, I throw it away after getting bored with it and then look for another.

The only thing that keeps fascinating me and is so intriguing, is the more I get older, the more I discover I know less.

Oh well!

They say that a fool lives to eat and a wise man eats to live. But then the question remains: for what purpose does the wise man live? Living is not an end by itself. There has to be a purpose for man to live for. So what is this purpose?
