Buying a used car Scammers
A cautionary tale. Please to all ex pats or anyone not familiar with buying cars in Qatar. There are 3 brothers Egyptian/Jordanian (they said they were Jordanian but his QID says Egyptian) selling Jeep Cherokees and very attractive prices. The come across as kind and friendly but they are not. They will sell you a lemon of a car with more faults that you could imagine. I was foolish enough to trust them, even the technical center was in on it. Only bought the car 45 days ago and i have had to replace so many things and spent in excess of QAR 10,000. No help no assistance from the sellers and no acknowledgment of responsibility.
Please stay clear of them, i wont post their names on here even though i am tempted to but if you think you may be engaging with them to buy a car and i will provide physical descriptions. These boys have tried to shift more Jeeps and when i have spotted the same Advert they used to sell me mine it quickly changed. They are mainly selling Jeeps.
If buying a Jeep only go to either Jeep centre for technical or Cool Wrangler.
please please avoid the German technical centre,i have since been to 3 different service centre including Jeep and Fahes (were it failed with 8 Major issues) and every one of them have commented on German Centre, these issues should have been found.
There is nothing you can do if you buy a used car from a private owner and then you have been scammed. No way to get your money back or anything.
Top Tips
Avoid these brother at all cost,
Do not go anywhere near the German Centre - these cowboys are in bed with the scamers
Go to two Different Centres and get the test, if possible go directly to the dealership Jeep or Cool wrangler (for Jeep or Dodge owners), it will be worth it in the long run
Alternatively if the Istamara is due go and have it FAHES inspected.
I can describe how angry this experience has made me and the level of distrust i know harbor toward seller of good who is similar in background to these brothers.
Hi Glamakid,
I wish I saw your post 1 week ago. We were duped by an Egyptian seller last week, he mentioned that he had 3 brothers.
This seller took the vehicle to German Mechanic in Salwa Road for the inspection.
Most of the cars for sale in Qatar are "lady driven" and "mint condition" even after 100k on the clock
Hmm... there are many scammers claiming 'Lady owned' and 'mint condition' vehicles which you may spend double its cost.
Sorry to hear your experience :(
PS - Don't go nearby those German Computers
