Why we are so suspicious about their intentions; priorities/plan change with certain developments. Major focus on Railways and 2022 stadiums; recently on safety measures.

If road construction plans are in place, temporary roads could be made in just one month if required.

Victroy ... this has nothing to do with liquor availability...

By increasing the salaries of the Qataris they have increased the burden on the National Budget by that much. They can increase the salary of Qataris by 10 times but it would only add to National Budget.

I have given data above... after 2010 they are hiding the data... meaning something is wrong...

I could go on... but... I need not.. ;)

They are dividing the existing road into different packages and will be developing them and as to new roads we will get there soon.

Your Qatar forecast is based on Liquor avilability and Gas prices.

What about Qatars surplus infrastructure budget and increase of salaries (for Qatari) to cut down the inflationery trends.

I dont like to predict but... I said this on 18 June 2012 & Gulf Times has predicted a sluggish 2013 Here:

http://www.gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=514824&version=1&template_id=57&parent_id=56

More proof:

In 2008 Ashghal awarded 77 Pojects

In 2009 Ashghal awarded 133 Pojects (70% increase on 2008!!!)

In 2010 Ashghal awarded 180 Pojects (33% increase on 2009)

So in 2011 it should have been at least 200 at least? NON

There is no data for 2011...lol

Blistering Barnacles - "UAE which is smaller than Qatar has planned almost double of Qatar's projected Road plans. Even Saudi has more road plans than Qatar"

I started my new job yesterday and saw how many of the major roads in the city are planned to be either expanded or ripped up and started again! Many will be done at the same time so expect even more chaos on the roads!

The construction of the first phase of the metro should be starting at the end of the year.

They are concentrating on Rail Projects...more than the Road Projects.

UAE which is smaller than Qatar has planned almost double of Qatar's projected Road plans. Even Saudi has more road plans than Qatar.

Between 2015 to 2020 Qatar could experience (mild to major) Recession and bundled with increased cost of Fuel, Increased water & Electricity charges, Tax, Parking tax. No more bars will open for sure till 2012, maybe a few existing ones (or all) might stop selling liquor.

It will be a difficult time for the "Financial planner" of the Sate of Qatar. God forbid the Petrol/gas price may not fall during this period.

If they build them now they will be full of holes and problems by 2022. Better to wait until 2021.

if they start it now, they have a possible chance of finishing it by 2022.

When roads can be added in a couple of hours...why start adding them a decade ahead.
