Many people blame Qatar for not having too many 'fun' places and that there is 'nothing' to do here, but from an objective point of view there is too little true in that. You create your own atmosphere, and fill your own entertainment tanks just about everywhere if you want to. You only are in control of yourself. You could be in Disneyland (if that is considered to be a fun place) and wonder on how to have fun. Few things to have fun with:

1. Read books. Both fiction and non-fiction books can create fantastic fun places in your mind at no major cost other than your time. The weight of knowledge in your mind will also give you greater happiness, if you accept to substitute fun for happiness.

2. Surf the Web. Information, thoughts, ideas and experiences became inexpensively available on the web. Don't miss your opportunity!

3. Are you single? Humans were not created to be 'fun-havers' in the first place. A quick game with a friend every week should be about enough to fill your fun tanks. What happens instead, especially with single people, is that they confuse their social and love needs with 'fun' needs. You might need to get married!

I have to agree with you on the cinema part. I  went to watch "reservation road" at citycentre. And it was a horrible experience Nothing's more annoying than the sound of sms/mobile phone in a drama. i totally lost focus
