Underwater Meeting
Maldives Fisheries and Agriculture Minister Ibrahim Didi signing the decree of an underwater cabinet meeting yesterday.
Ministers in full scuba gear met on the sea bed to draw attention to the dangers of global warming for the island nation, a tourist paradise featuring coral reefs and white sand beaches with most parts lying less than 1m above sea level. Scientists have warned Maldives could be uninhabitable in less than 100 years.
**so with this meeting, did they want to picture, this is how Maldives citizens should be living after 100 years??**
Maldives was one of the first countries to sign on to the Kyoto agreement which seeks to reduce worldwide carbon dioxide emissions in an effort to stop the process of global warming.
