Things you wanna do before you reach 40

By BluVander

Life begins at 40, or so they say.
For those who haven't begun their lives yet, what are the stuff you want to do before you reach 40?

i want to do extreme sports like bungee jumping or skydiving. I don't think i can still do this at 40 up. :P

“The best years of a woman’s life – the ten years between 39 and 40.”

“At the age of 20, we don’t care what the world thinks of us. At 30, we worry about what it is thinking of us. At 40, we discover that it wasn’t thinking of us at all.”

at age 40 instead of doing a face-lift i will start using the facebook ;-)

My plan is to snorkle with Killer Whales as they go up the Norwegian Fjords in November each year. Age isn't really important, but I did say I'd like to do it by 40 and I'm 40 in November, so best get a move on.

No reason why you can't do things after 40, I know Scuba divers into their 70's, I know parachuters, hand gliders and paragliders in their late 50's and mountaineers in their late 40's. My great uncle started cycling when he was 70 and rode across the USA, Japan and many of the pacific islands after that.

That said, if you have the time and money to do things when you are young, you will have the memories for a lifetime.

Age 3: Looks at herself and sees a Queen!

Age 8: Looks at herself and sees herself as Cinderella/Sleeping Beauty.

Age 15: Looks at herself and sees herself as Cinderella/SleepingBeauty/Cheerleader or if she is PMS'ing: sees Fat/Pimples/UGLY ("Mom I can't go to school looking like this!")

Age 20: Looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly" - but decides she's going anyway.

Age 30: Looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly" - but decides she doesn't have time to fix it, she's going anyway.

Age 40: Looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly" - but says, "At least, I'm clean" and goes anyway.

Age 50: Looks at herself and sees "I am" and goes wherever she wants to go.

Age 60: Looks at herself and reminds herself of all the people who can't even see themselves in the mirror anymore. Goes out and conquers the world.

Age 70: Looks at herself & sees wisdom, laughter and ability, goes out and enjoys life.

Age 80: Doesn't bother to look. Just puts on a purple hat and goes out to have fun with the world.

Maybe we should all grab that purple hat a little earlier!

I get up each morning, and dust off my wits,

pick up my paper and read the "obits".

If my name is missing, I know I'm not dead,

so I eat a good breakfast and go back to bed
