SPEAKING TO MACHINES
You call a bank (any bank). You have a problem like they dedcuted your loan twice. You want to speak to a customer service guy, any guy, doesn't matter.
Then you hear a voice says "Marhaban bikkum.... Thank you for calling ....bank. idharat rakkam wahad, press 2 for english. Ok, I press 2. If you know your desired extension, press it now, (of course, I have no "desired" extension", nor do I know anyone personally here to know their numbers)
if not press 0 for operator. Ok, I press 0 and then..
...
...
...
...
...
...
the person at extension 0 is not available. if you want to leave a message, do so after the beep.
beep beep
beep beep
beep beep
......................this mail box is full and cannot take any more voice messages.
beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
you get disconnected.
THE END.
FINITO.
KAPUT.
WHATEVER.
The machines have taken over !!! You have spent time trying to talk to your dear bank/airline/whatever without even hearing a single human voice !!!
For me personalized service means, I get to talk to a "PERSON", not a machine.
How many here agree with me ??? Come on, lets hear from you people.
Alexa..ur right..except here the worst is Telstra phone company...b/c they run in India....whenever you make a querie, their english is basic and you always get "sorry maam..i didnt get that"...your speaking to fast? Hence you get nowehere cause no one can help u....i finally switched to Optus who are just as bad...but at least the operator can understand what you are saying....
the most popular person of the company I used to work for, for seven years before I came to Qatar, was our telephone operator. All customers liked her and spoke so highly of her. I just imagine their disappointment if we had decided to replace her with a stupid machine.
May the roof above us never fall in, and may the friends below never fall out!
i agree with u 100%
I agree..it is bloody annoying...I'm in australia and its the same here..these days you cant speak to any one without pressing so many buttons in the hope that u will get to speak to a person...and sometimes the options to press arent even what u are calling about so u go around in circles..and when/if u get to a operator and u wait 10 mins on the phone, the operator tell us ur in the wrong department and the re direct u somewhere else and the cycle begins...and if u r really lucky they hang up on you....it is soooo frustrating....Actually here the only thing that works quickly is the "credit card payment option....No guesses why! What ever happened to simply having a person just answer the phone...
