Satelite TV - Help

I have recently moved into a villa which has 2 satelite dishes on the roof, and is prewired into the lounge.
The real estate guys say all i need to do is buy a receiver, and then I can receive channels from various satellites?

Anyone have any idea how I go about doing this, and where I buy a receiver, and set it up etc?

Cheers Baldrick. Sounds like it really isn't worth the hassle! Showtime it is.

Bring on the footie, and time to watch Arsenal get whooped again!!!

Northernlad ... you'll be disappointed if you ever find it. Not much to watch that's free. Best get a subscription to Showtime.

1. Buy Orbit or Showtime. They'll supply the box and card.

2. Buy just a box. Receive free-to-air channels from your satellite dishes (probably nilesat, arabsat).

3. Buy a dreambox or similar decoder that you can use with a card-sharing service. You probably need a bit of technical knowledge to do this.

If you have two dishes pointing to two satellites you will need a small box, called Diseq. It has several inputs for the dishes and one output for the receiver. Then you have to set up the Diseq in your receiver's menu and then you can scan both satellites for programs. Make sure your receiver supports Diseq 2, and you will have no problem.

I got mine from a shop near Jaidah flyover. Coming from Ramada, head to flyover and turn Left underneath it. shop is in arcade on left after 1~200m.

You will also need a subscription unless you are happy with mostly Arabic FTA programming. The same shop will help you with your 'bouquet'!
