Love swells like the Solway, but ebbs like its tide..!!

What's more important, the lady shouldn't regret this a few years later.

In my opinion, you have got a priceless mahar..

Its richer than gold, property and money. And the knowledge you gain through those books.. noone ever can steal them from you.

UK, maybe she is able to take care of herself, and therefore this money makes no difference to her.

Kinda like the time of the Prophet, when women and men were so un-materialistic. Where love for religion and one another was far more important. Where a Mahr used to even be a man teaching his wife what he knew of the Quran!

Not meaning to brag, but just for sharing, my mahr was much praised by the local Imaam and all those that attended.

My Mahr was my hubby's collection of Islamic books! Pretty priceless, huh? Of course since then I have managed to cost my hubby quite a bit so it's not like I remained a prize catch for too long..lol I hope the wife in the pic does better though!

Tell the National sajmarhab, not me.

It is not dowry, it is called MAHAR, that defined by God. and the right of the Women.

I heard that in Arab world "dowry" is given by men not women, so the bride is great to accept 1 dirham :)

BG, dont appreciate 'him', appeciate 'her' for accepting 1 Dirham as Mahr.

If I were them I'd frame the dirham :)
