To recline or not recline

After being on an annoying flight back to Doha, I was pondering peoples thoughts about reclining the seat back on aircrafts.

Is it disrespectful to put your seat back knowing that the person behind has no legroom?

Or should people be able to recline and not give a thought to the person behind them?

that will not result to an emergency landing... I was in the airline business for 21 years... that's why I know the person infront has every right to recline his seat except meal times... the captain don't get involved on those situations unless a fist fight arises..

bankrupt??? that will be pretty hard to do..

By anonymous• 27 Jan 2008 17:06

And I am glad to send you to custody on arrival and honour you with an armed escort

By anonymous• 27 Jan 2008 17:01

I have my rights also and I paid same price as you and the captain has the final say onboard. Distrubing him will result in an emergency landing of the nearest air port. You will be already bankrupt when you get out of the custody.

You were playing with fools who doesn't how to handle the situation.

You're right, I've been flying for over 20 years and it is harder to stay reclined than sitting upright the entire flight...

It also depends on how the person ask, and if what Charan did happened to me.. my seat will be reclined the entire flight...

yes , i had the same problem, but ppl have to mind in the first place to cause such a thing, so talking will not solve it, just kick it.

There is an art get this over. first get friendly with the cabin crew. Then later go to the section of the cabin crew and ask for a drink. get them to chit chat with you. get one more drink chit chat again . go back to seat. sleep. wakeup. do the above routing again. time will fly with out your knowledge:)

Warning; (body contacting will get you trouble after landining at your destination).

i will keep kicking the chair from behind.

Thats what I do...lol....not on purpose of course...

I think it's fine to recline for part of the flight but the WHOLE flight??

Oh and some of us can't afford business class and have really long legs!! really really long...lol

actually if the flight attendant told the person in front of you to put up his seat during the flight.. the attendant is wrong.. and the person can have a valid complain to the airline.. that happened to me and I told the attendant NO.. and she went on, and that was it.. because everyone paid for their own tickets.. and the person infront will always win.. just like a said the only time it is required is during mealtime...

By owen• 27 Jan 2008 16:46

*hisssing on JB*...jb, there will come a time that i will be needing a leg room...and don't advice me to upgrade business class not unless you will pay for my ticket..:D

Either i will ask the hostess to tell the person in front to sit straight

or i my self will ask if

and if nothing worked out.

i will keep kicking the chair from behind.

If you want a lot of leg room on your flight, you can always pay for business class.. it is not disrespectful to recline, just imagine sitting up straight for a long time.. and besides I paid for my seat, why should I inconvenience myself especially on long flights..

But on the other hand.. during meal time.. it is common courtesy to have your sit up so the person behind you can at least enjoy his/her meals..

By owen• 27 Jan 2008 16:40
owen

lol..i got the same concern...am on second thought of reclining my seat as i don't want to let someone come to me and blah blah about the seat...but at the same time..what if i no longer feel my leg?...:/ hehehhe..can i tell the person "just for an hour...i need blood to circulate on my leg..please.." (i know im being sarcastic)
