Thank you for this very informative and reliable post. Many of us loves to travel and go to different places and it's sad to hear that airfare charges is getting higher, that's why I'd like to share this article that I read regarding this. Air carriers charge a great deal in fees and generally do not lower airfare charges very often, which many air travelers are not pleased about. Airfare rising is a fact of life and many major carriers have certainly been raising airfares again lately. Get a short term loan to help pay for your trip.

There's 3 stages of economy class but has no difference at all! it's like promotional for passengers who booked earlier the cheapest rates called first class rates economy and the second class rates economy and the third class is a normal rates for economy class.

I bought ticket for one relative at Etihad airline, and they have good & cheapest rate. Though only Manila-Doha stop over in Abu Dhabi for 1 hour only, not bad!

1. Qatar Airways:

Business Class: Best Food and Attitude (of Staff)(Exorbitantly high fares, great if the company pays and all lounges are great)

Economy: Best seating space and Average Attitude

Best flight Entertainment.

Q A is never value for money for flights out of Doha but if you are into Doha in transit, one of the best airlines.

2. Emirates: Average Business Class and Poor Economy Class

Average Flight Entertainment

Not a great value for the money

3. Etihad: Business is Average and Economy is good with great deals on tickets.

4. Gulf Air: Business OK.

Economy: Avoid

5. Air Arabia:If you have planned your summer vacation two months in adavnce and its a short haul- Great Value at reasonable price.

Few Long Hauls- Avoid until money is tight

6. Sri Lankan Airline: Old planes but great value and quality service.

Economy - Average.

All deals have a nice stay at a 5* in Colombo or a three day holiday package- Great Value

On Long Hauls I would prefer QA to any other airlines due to 31" space in Economy seating and Great Service in Business Class.

Quiet lurker. Poor Contributer

I'll second Joe on Singapore as the No 1. Those long flights from Mumbai-Singapore-Sydney-Melbourne have always been wonderful.

Emirates would come a close second.

Also I'd rank Thai highly as they've always pleased me whenever I've requested an upgrade to business class from cattle class. i.e. when the aircraft is running a little light. Also stop overs in Thailand give me a chance to have some playtime in Bangkok. ;-)

Not to forget, Kingfisher airlines while flying local in India (big fan of KF beer and KF flight attendants) and Ozjet in Oz.

Here's a link to the Kingfisher Calendar (gorgeous Indian women ;-))-

For business or first class, Qatar Airways is clearly the best.

For economy, Emirates is better.

Flying economy with Qatar Airways makes you feel like a head of cattle, being transferred from cage to truck to cage).

hhmm actually, i only flew with emirates.. manila-dubai flight is comfortable.. the food is ok... the crew... some nice..some are stubborn... i was with my 1 year old son at that time and so far they are kid-friendly airline.. they give importance to those who have their kids with them...but not the-upgrading-to-1st class-airline huh hehehe... in flight entertainment is wayyy ok... very smooth flight...

but dubai-doha flight is kinda shaky... noisy... and old and not-so-dirty plane..

...best airline I've ever been on; Singapore. They're number one, no question...at least in goat class, which is where I get to be. (I've yet to fly Etihad but everyone I know who's flown them prefers them to EK or QR).

Here is my chart for airlines I've been on which serve the region, (Economy seating);

1 - Singapore...by a lot, no question.

2 - Qatar...Decent seats, (on the 330's, much of the legroom on 4 of the 8 seats is taken up by the entertainment system), OK service, good in flight entertainment.

3 - Emirates...Poor seats, (uncomfortable for me on flights over 2 hours, on the Boeing 777, 10 seats across instead of the normal 9 making it much more cramped and service more rushed), Average service, Good in flight entertainment.

Qatar is generally the most convenient to fly out of Doha, so I've been booking with them. The better chance of a direct flight makes up for their less than stellar performance.

If I was flying out of UAE, I'd go Etihad. They've gotten very good reviews and are generally considered to rate higher than Emirates and Qatar for economy service. For business class, they're probably all very similar...but I'll never know...*sniff*.

There's my 2 cents. Happy trails...

Not much of a choice. Emirates far and away the best. Qatar Airways an emirates wanna-be but ground staff are rude. Plus they bow low to Qatari passengers. Coming back from Dubai, at Dubai airport saw the flight to Doha had everyone checked, counter closed, until a youngish Qatari just strolled up, carrying bunches of duty free bags and went on board. Act like they own the airline.

Emiartes is great and service is good. Lots of legroom in all classes. Others are more or less budget airlines but Gulf Air is shabby. shabby, shabby. No newspapers, in-flight entertainment, dirty aircraft.

1. Qatar Airways

2. Emirates

3. Etihad

4. Gulf Air

5. Air Arabia

6. Sri Lankan Airline

We only use 1 and 2 regular depend on the availability. Qatar Airways always delayed.

I went back with my son only 2 of us ... on the way back the in flight entertainment is broken. So can you imagine 7 hrs flight without movie or songs to entertain my kid?

Last feb i went back to Indonesia for my granny funeral ... and guess what? it is also delayed.

The other trip that i remembered we used QR was trip to Jordan ... both outgoing and ingoing also delayed.

And the last one was our trip to the UK ... we took british airways ... but missed the connecting flight ... so they send us to Qatar Airways. They keep us for 7 hrs in the boarding room ... delayed ... and they have this silly system ... they let certain number of people out,and the next batch only can come out if the people already out coming back. I threw a wobbler because i couldn't take my son to the toilet for the same reason ...

in the end the decided to cancel the flight. So all the passenger panicking and went to Qatar Airways counter. There is no professionalism in Qatar Airways handling the problem. There are 2 guys and 2 girls sitting on the desk ... but it seems only 1 guy who have the authority to do things. The other 3 staffs keep saying to the anxious cancelled flight passenger to ask this 1 perticular guy. It was so chaotic ...

We went back to british airways because that was original ticket ... they send us to Hilton Airport Hotel and we fly back to Doha next morning.

We never have problem with Emirates ... so far so good. They have good in flight entertainment system to entertain the kids. He is happy, his parents happy :-)

Never use 3, 4, 5. And only flew with 6 once while we went to Sri Lanka. Can't complain because they up grade us to Business Class (with our 1 yrs old son).

Can you make different ratings for in flight and ground please???

Always expect problems during the high season.

I've been on such rubbish planes that airworthiness is my number 1 priority.

The first 3 are similar although 1 & 2 offer more comfortable long-haul service. Qatar Airways are really stretched now and suffering from delayed flights. Etihad needs better seats in the forward cabins.

Gulf Air is struggling. I was once waiting to board one of their flights and heard them paging the CREW requesting that they head "immediately to the aircraft". I kid you not.

5 is no frills, best value for money, my parents flew it from Kuwait to Doha and said it was alright.

No idea about 6 but I imagine they should have the best tea.
