Question about the Qatar Work culture
Hi to everyone,
I am new to this forum, and since this is quite a small community, i would like to personally greet everyone. :)
I am working with a technology company in Qatar and would like to know the basic worth ethics and culture. A few questions
*Greeting by saying salam is a norm ? And should you extend it to you non-arabic speaking colleagues ?
*Should you address your managers or seniors as sir or calling by first names is acceptable(i know this depends from company to company, but what is the generic view on this)
* Can you chat with your women colleagues ? Like sometimes you have a little off the topic discussion with colleagues, questions like " how you doing", "How was the weekend ". i hope it doesn't offend the sensibility.
And if you guys could post your views and suggestions it would be really valuable. Thankyou.
First you should know basic Arabic that is a big help.
我听见 我忘记; 我看见 我记住; 我做 我了解。
You can't understand until you walk a mile in someone else's shoes.
