QF Radio English Service
There is already a thread in Preparations & Set-up about this but it's been spammed so I won't link - and anyway I thought it warrants a mention on the forum 'front page'.
Have a listen to 91.7 MHz for the revamped English QF Radio. Good clear signal. I'll leave it to QLers to comment on content and presentation...
( There is also an Arabic service on 93.7 Hz )
I listen to this channel when i am really angry ..... :0
No Brit... that is too current for them.
Do they play Abba, Englebert and Bert Bootrack ?
Thought I finally had a reason to stop listening to QBS! They need someone to run the station with a singular direction in mind....obviously there are too many decision makers involved here and they're trying to keep everyone happy....FAIL.
Yeah... I can't believe it, but I have gone back to QBS and now think it's great. That's how bad QF Radio is :(
Well I've given it a fair trial and I'm not impressed.
A Fashion Show on radio??
Factoids repeated ad nauseam.
News items punctuated by heavy rock.
Very odd mix of music.
Sorry QFR - would have liked to give praise - but you will have to do better than the current output to earn any.
Are fine first time round - but if I hear that one about spiders' webs again, I'll be switching off - for good.
So not impressed with QF. Presenters who appear to turn up unprepared to the studio with little or no planning, research or foresight in their shows direction or content. Ridiculously diverse music programming with zero focus on any group of listeners, and sound effects in the news that make me scream out loud "Oh Come On!". I do like the factoids though.
As a presenter on my local radio station back in the UK in the 80's I know a bit about the subject.
When is a real radio station like Virgin Dubai going to happen here?
I have 1 year experience in microwave commissioning and 1.4 year experience in computer service engineer
QF Radio had a great opportunity to offer listeners a viable alternative to the mostly awful QBS. They have failed with aplomb. That they have actually created a station I want to listen to LESS than QBS is a miraculous feat. There are tried and tested radio show formats all over the world.....try one please! I'd happily give up some of my time to sit down with them and explain EXACTLY how to create a successful radio show....they couldn't be further from that point.
A real shame, considering their marketing budget and studios....how do I find myself listening to a program on the Leaning Tower of Pisa at 10am on a Monday morning??? Let alone, the other rubbish they are transmitting.
I've brought myself to define this channel as..."The Twenty Songs Channel"....Cheers!!
i hardly hear any good song on 91.7 ...
